SWGfL Merlin is designed to be the foundation for a School’s Learning Platform. One of the key functions of Merlin is to enable interoperability with a wide range of Content, Services and Applications, through the use of “Shibboleth” and the “Systems Interoperability Framework (SIF)”.
To support schools, the SWGfL Trust is awarding a “Works with Merlin” badge that can be used by suppliers in their publicity and by schools to make sure that their purchases will “Work with Merlin”.
The “Works with Merlin” scheme is designed to encourage suppliers to provide a good user experience, a reliable solution, easy to access support materials, simple to implement integration, without compromising the esafety of pupils, teachers and parents.
"Works with Merlin" assures schools that they can be confident that the content services and applications that they choose to integrate into the Merlin learning platform are safe and reliable.
